MEDIA RELEASE: March 2026
The Impact Investing Hub, an initiative of Social Impact Hub, has announced a national education and capability-building plan to strengthen Australia’s impact investing market, supported by the Minderoo Foundation over the next three years.
The funding will enable the Impact Investing Hub to significantly expand its role as Australia’s leading platform for impact investing education, practical tools and community building. The plan is designed to complement Impact Investing Australia’s free market navigation infrastructure and research leadership, ensuring clear roles across the ecosystem and accelerating the effective flow of capital to impact.
"We are very excited about this new strategic direction for the Impact Investing Hub, leveraging our team's significant expertise in education and capability building, to work collaboratively to build the impact investing ecosystem," said Jessica Mendoza-Roth, CEO of the Social Impact Hub.
A coordinated national approach and a transition of assets
The Impact Investing Hub’s next phase has been developed in close coordination with Impact Investing Australia to ensure alignment and avoid duplication in the sector. Both organisations aim to draw on their respective strengths to maximise philanthropic funds and assist people better navigate the sector and find the supports they need. To help achieve these objectives, Impact Investing Hub has transferred its Investor Directory, Deals Library and Glossary to Impact Investing Australia, 9 years after launching Australia’s first Impact Investment Deals Library in 2017.
Impact Investing Australia will continue to serve as the national home for free market-navigation resources, including research, deal tracking and directories. The Impact Investing Hub will focus on education, training, practical toolkits, templates and community, helping market participants build the skills and confidence to act.
“Coordination with Impact Investing Australia means investors and enterprises can more easily find the right support at the right time, while strengthening the system as a whole,” said Mendoza-Roth. “In the spirit of collaboration, the Impact Investing Hub has transferred assets to Impact Investing Australia and will focus on education and capability building. As a respected peak body, Impact Investing Australia is well positioned to support the sector at large to navigate the impact investment market. We thank our Impact Investing Champions - Snow Foundation, Siddle Family Foundation, Manos Foundation and Yarranabbe Foundation - for their support in enabling us to build the Impact Investing Hub to what it is today and laying the foundations for this exciting next phase,” said Mendoza-Roth.

Why impact investing matters now
Impact investing directs capital toward measurable social and environmental outcomes alongside financial returns. Research shows that $157 billion is now invested across publicly available impact investment products in Australia, an eightfold increase over five years.
Yet significant barriers remain. Many investors are interested but lack the confidence, skills or practical guidance to participate, while many social enterprises struggle to become investment-ready or navigate complex capital structures. The Impact Investing Hub exists to close this gap by building capability on both sides of the market and mobilise more capital for impact.
